Project Goal

Jacob Construction & Design, Inc. upgraded the airfield’s elevated and flush lighting with new FAA compliant ADB bidirectional LED runway lighting at Fallon Naval Air Station.

JCD’s mission on this project was to upgrade the airfield Elevated and Flush lighting fixtures by removing the old lights and replacing them with new FAA approved ADB bidirectional LED lighting units on Runway 13R-31L. The scope involved switching out the light, light housing, wiring to internal transformer, transformer, and other appurtenances to provide complete and usable lighting units. To ensure that construction did not impede the owner’s ability to carry out normal operations on the airfield, JCD took extra measures to devise a workable schedule and safety plan with NAVFAC’s contracting office before proceeding with material mobilization.
